To aid in coping with the day to day issues of living with MS a modern interior renovation and re-design of a 1020's bungalow into a modern living space responded with a reduction in visual and physical clutter.By removing the compartmentalized organization of the original design the home became divided into two spaces, the living and kitchen area and the sleeping rooms. These two spaces are separated by a support spine, a floor to ceiling element of wood, that provides ample storage for daily living necessities. Opposite the wood support spine is a wall of floor to ceiling insulated glazing, salvaged from a mid century modern home in the area that was demolished, that overlooks a rock garden. The project features simple building materials such as plywood, durock and MDF as well as furniture pieces designed for the bedrooms and bathrooms. The project was completed in the spring of 2006.
