Originally constructed in 1968, this brick ranch served as a significant influence on numerous design choices made during the midcentury modern renovation. The newly expanded kitchen now includes a peninsula and counter-height dining space. The simple removal of a wall between the front sitting room and existing living room allowed the interior to enjoy more ample sunlight, despite keeping the original window sizes intact. The original brick has been reframed to create a textural contrast against the clean walls, which serve as a canvas for showcasing artwork.
The single-level layout provides a foundation for age-in-place enhancements—both in terms of structure and aesthetics. Upgraded lighting and new drywall in the bedrooms, along with bathroom renovations, have not only improved accessibility but also maintained the fresh and welcoming style of the midcentury modern design.
