A Fantastic Trailer is an architectural vehicle to create a relationship between myself, the architect, and the viewer. The project invites the viewer to engage with the architecture – to touch, feel, and hear it. The project is mobile, which expands the audience, but also makes one aware of the fact that it is a fleeting experience. The mobility also allows the project to be juxtaposed against different environments. The draft columns themselves seem alive in their interaction with the audience. They appear to dance with the slightest air movement and the scrim appears to breath in and out with the air coming from the vents. They are a stand-in for myself – acting as hosts of the experience. The circular seating areas create small conversation circles intermittently invaded by the draft columns. These interruptions force the architecture into the conversation, setting the stage for engaging social experience.
