The owners of this house on Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway spent a year living in the existing 1959 house to understand the views, the breezes, and how they wanted to live on the property. The discovery process led to large open interior spaces to maximize the water views and bring in natural light. A pared down vocabulary is employed in the interiors reflecting the relaxed nature of the house. A series of French doors across the rear façade provide access to the extensive exterior living spaces, both covered and uncovered.
