EXTRASMALL SHOPPING MALL

CONTEXT
Site is located in central and historic area of the city, pedestrian access from central square is 20min. Current use: flowers and clothing shops. Urban context: green sqare is not 100% in use as a public space (actual use: fastfood and closed underground public toilets), high traffic, pedestrian transit.

PROBLEM
Site is not active public space, high potential and good location is not in use. This is not attractive and pleasant place.

PROGRAM
Maximum area, Public space program.
Square itself is a very attractive place, (like a formal urban situation, not like actual сondition). We decided decided not to intervene, just change to improve coverage, add lighting and seating, making it pleasant and safer. Building is located on a very small area. Our aim was to provide this place with a new life. Content is very important, but trade area function was provided by the client. The emphasis is on the need for public facilities in this part of town. The first floor is open as possible, has a single coating inside and outside, and glass enclosures only formal barrier and safety. There are a cafe with few tables and a flower shop, that is very visually appealing. The second level has a sales area and a slope room which can be film screenings and performances, or have different public discussions and presentations. The third level of sales area completely . On the last level terrace and a cafe. So this will create complex account of public space for collaboration urban situation with open areas, commerce and social needs.

ARCHITECTURE
As shown in the diagram, we tried to emphasize and save the existing axes and specificity of urban footprint. Since it is not a building that fills the space between and is an independent unit. The scale, and facade pattern will be independent.
