A conceptual research center imagined within the vast open landscape of the former Tempelhof Airport in Berlin. The circular architecture is conceived as a quiet landmark — a place where science, technology and environmental research intersect. Organized around a central atrium, the building creates a continuous spatial dialogue between laboratories, collaborative workspaces and public areas. The interior atrium is conceived as the heart of the research center — a quiet space for exchange, reflection and collaboration.
A circular opening frames the sky above, bringing natural light deep into the building while emphasizing the dialogue between architecture and nature. Warm wooden structures define the spatial rhythm of the atrium, creating an environment that feels both calm and inspiring.
At the center, a living tree becomes the symbolic core of the space — representing growth, knowledge and the continuous exchange of ideas between disciplines.
Surrounded by the openness of Tempelhofer Feld, the project explores how future research environments could integrate nature, urban life and innovation into one cohesive ecosystem.
