Cinema is a lifetime mirror that reflects attitude of the
time. The reconstructed movie theater appeared on a „black and white movies“ period
of time. Movie theater like any other
building reflects that era architecture, the same way as the shown movies in
it. With this work we are saving the „white time“ architecture with respect to „black and white movies“ legacy.
All the elevations, proportions like the sign of the times
are reconstructing to achieve primary building expression using modern construction
materials (DuPont facade cladding materials and systems), lighting, laser and
holographic projectors for posters and comercials. The exterior of hte building
is white, interior – black.
the white building exterior combined with lighting and projectors
is used to reflect this era sign – virtuality – this infuse vibration and
architectural axclusivness in a daily environment.
Nowadays ther is no problem to meet the cinema, but in
pursuance of respect to the cinema goers and movie theaters we use the public
space „Pushkin square“. the outdoor space in front of the cinema hall isn‘t
changed in a shape and small architectural forms.
The square gains new architectural shape, like an extension
of movie theater that reflects relationship between movie and environment.
the square is converted to semindoor/semioutdoor space which
is treatd like cinema teather lounge extension.
Plane that covers part of the square creates a space for
instalations, laser and holographic movie projections, advertisements, etc.
