Like the Olympics and the World Cup, Expos generate significant economic and cultural impacts. Their universal themes aim to harmonize cultural heritage and address critical issues such as technology, innovation, and environmental sustainability.
Expo 2016 Antalya, themed "Flower and Child" with the slogan "A Green World for Future Generations," seeks to unite the flower—a symbol of peace, beauty, and nature—with the child, representing innocence and future potential.
The design area is located in Aksu District, Antalya, between the Aksu Stream and the Tehnelli area, featuring a zigzag layout. The Expo Tower is positioned at the intersection of the entrance and lower squares. A City Stage has been proposed to engage users through concerts and performances, complemented by an observation terrace and a shaded Sunken Courtyard designed for Antalya's climate.
The architectural language of the Expo Tower reflects the "Flower and Child" theme while addressing sustainability through the concept of "A Green World for Future Generations." Beyond planting, sustainability encompasses sociological dimensions, integrating the Expo Tower into a Living, Breathing, and Transforming system to ensure long-term relevance.
