The 100th anniversary of the inventor and market leader worldwide in the sliding table saws sector was celebrated with the inauguration of the new service and sales centre at the company’s HQ in Minden, Germany. A modern two-storey building, which perfectly complements the existing architecture, was created on the edge of the city centre in an area comprising both residential and industrial buildings.
The design of the façades is all about clean lines. The architect combined generous glass fronts with expanses of exposed concrete and zinc panels. On an area covering over 2,000 square metres of office space, the building houses not only a large number of offices and a training centre but also a showroom. This is where visitors can trace the history of the Altendorf sliding table saw and enthuse over the company’s latest innovations. Seminar rooms and open-plan offices are grouped around a light patio on the top floor. A vertical seam, which continues above the gallery in the roof spire, visually demarcates the training centre and the office area.
The purist interior design follows the structural clarity of the façade. Exposed concrete, natural stone and white expanses of wall strike you immediately. Wall coverings made of wood add a warm touch to the corridors.
