When I played in construction sites and lumber yards
as a child, I used to imagine them in a creative ways,
imbuing them with all kinds of personal meaning. These
were not exactly accessible or sensible places, but
somehow they gave me comfort and happiness. In our era
of rapidly increasing comfort and convenience, I
design my spaces in keeping with the freedom and
simplicity I felt at that time.
