Renovation of the staff restaurant “Jump Seat” at the EuroAirport
The centrally located staff restaurant at the Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport has been entirely restructured and refurbished. The project aimed to thoroughly transform its functionality, its room layout and building materials. The kitchen is now located in the heart of the new restaurant. It has been given the form of a cubicle made of dark wood, enhanced with elements of stainless steel. Every visitor passes in front of this wooden casket to arrive in the spacious and light-flooded dining hall, which also offers a spacious view towards the Black Forest. Thanks to the opening-up of the Northern front of the airport terminal, the main entrance now also benefits from natural light. Consequently, all dining spaces with their bright simplicity contrast well with the dark kitchen. The blue colour of the signs and furnishings accentuate the elemental architectural quality of the dining-hall.
