For the launch of Chivas 18 in China, we collaborated with Thomas
Serrano, President of Luxe Events for EURO RSCG Worldwide to create a
VIP Dinner Event and a series of live PR and viral marketing events. Stemming from the new brand identity campaign for Chivas 18, we created a
three tired VIP experience anchored in the transformational power of
Midas and her golden touch. Guests enter into an indigo blue lounge for
an intimate introduction to the brand and product. Centered in the
space, on an antique parquet floor, Midas stands frozen on a pedestal.
Above, a sparkling golden orb begins to glow brighter. At an appointed
time, Midas comes to life and opens 2 monolithic doors, designed to
appear as the Chivas 18 boxes. Midas ushers the 40 guests into the
Chivas Hall for dinner and formal tastings. The dimly illuminated space
appears as 2 banquet tables lining a long runway - the same antique
parquet floor from the lounge. Midas graces through the space, touching
tables and chairs, transforming all surfaces into gold. Extensive
interactive LED and Video technology serves to transform the space into a
sparkling golden palace. The long walls of the space are lined with
monolithic walnut cabinets holding tiers of Chivas 18 bottles. Overhead
of the banquet tables, a canopy of LED fabric is swagged to create a
glowing ceiling, along with 6 sparkling golden orbs. At the far end of
the space, an immense golden roccocco picture frame anchors the room,
with a presentation stage and interactive video/LED wall. For the
finale, the room is immersed with a flood of gold leaf snow falling from
above over the guests.
