Nearly eighty years after an Edwardian house was trucked uphill and craned atop a garage foundation, Gast Architects, in close collaboration with the homeowners, completely reimagined the structure from the inside out. Every inch of the home was transformed: the framing was restructured, the ground floor excavated to create generous ceiling heights, and the upper bedroom level thoughtfully expanded. Exquisite attention to detail defines the project—from custom lighting and leaded glass to warm wood paneling and refined tilework. The kitchen opens seamlessly to a roof deck through a wide-opening sliding door system for natural light and livability.
