The Etko Music Venue’s Beer Garden in Limassol, designed by A. Stylianou Architects in collaboration with artists Elena Kotasvilli and Alexis Vayanos, is a striking synthesis of industrial architecture and organic vitality. The design transforms the former industrial setting into a vibrant cultural hub, where black metal and steel structures, exposed infrastructures, and lush greenery coexist in bold contrast. The architectural language embraces a raw, authentic aesthetic—celebrating material honesty while creating a flexible environment for music performances, cultural festivals, markets, and social gatherings.
A key feature of the space is its metal mesh façade cladding, which conceals all mechanical equipment with refined precision. Over time, climbing plants envelop this mesh, softening the industrial expression and introducing a living, ever-changing texture that reaches the highest points of the black steel canopies. The result is a layered visual dialogue between man-made form and natural growth.
At night, dynamic lighting highlights the structure’s framework, transforming the beer garden into a glowing urban stage for international and local artists to perform. By day, dappled light filters through the greenery, animating the open, adaptable layout. The Etko Beer Garden stands as a model of adaptive reuse and creative collaboration; an innovative fusion of art, architecture, music and nature.
