Incorporating otherness manifests itself in the conceptual, design and
realization of the project. This 'trait' inspires the overall experience
of the visitor and reassures his sense of place.
A Physical extension to an Ethiopian synagogue replacing the
traditional temporary structure for congregating, In an environment estranged
to the Ethiopian scenery the building reinforces tradition through a system of
confining walls.
Through or by means of a wall comprised and imbedded with
colorful windows of orange, yellow, green and heavenly blue two spaces (the
outdoor and indoor) are united and separated. A color scheme found in
traditional Ethiopian garments lights the spirit of those engaged in
sustaining a way of life respectful to their ancestors.
