ESTUFA | GALERIA EMMA THOMAS
With the new paradigms we experience the urgent need to rethink and remodel the function of the artistic production of the spaces and platforms of cultural activation, weather public or private.
Greenhouse is an enclosed environment created to conserve in the interior, the perfect conditions for the creation and development of new elements. From this premise, the site project was designed to assimilate a memory architecture by creating a confrontation between the "greenhouse" (space of continuous flow and permanence) and the viewer as subject of the work, through a translucent and temporary camera
The light chamber created in a controlled way for the removal of the look that the external environment provokes, conserving equality among object, public and place inside the compartment.
The research of the materials was decisive for the final result, the walls were made with layers of fabric and gutters of light that created ambiguity in the rereading of the traditional white cube idealized in the galleries.
Emma Thomas + A Estufa inaugurate a three-month program of interventions and facilities that relate to the dysfunctions of the ideology of capital as well as its contraposition, the reconnection with nature. The exhibition space itself houses actions, works, performances and projects that relate to the investigation of cycles, processes of transformation and impermanence.
The artist and designer Ramsés Marçal inaugurates this partnership with a series of sculptures that, in a first layer, talks about the weight of the existence or the culture of consumption.
We believe in processes that do not speak of form but rather of sensations, from the ephemeral to the permanent.
