In an irregular plot of 229 m2, a 144 m2 house is developed within the Baja California Desert, Mexico. Taking advantage of the complex shape of the terrain, it was decided to use it as a pretext to create a powerful house in its form, where the local context is respected using concrete pigmented with earth from the area. Creating a monolithic piece where windows and doors cannot be seen at first glance, seeking a timeless result with minimal maintenance requirements.
The program scheme was straightforward. Two bedrooms with bathrooms were required, with the social areas being the most important. The main entrance generates a double-height social room, where the main curved facade acts as support for the staircase to the second floor. Additionally, the kitchen/dining room enjoys a view of the private patio of the house through double-height windows.
The idea was to carry out a project with the excuse of being "poor in its materiality but rich in its concept."
