The structure is designed as a tower clad with local stone, connected to a bridge that extends through the tower toward the rocky landscape. The bridge rests on one end of the rock formation without damaging its natural structure.
The building is located in the Ortakent region of the Bodrum Peninsula on Turkey’s Aegean coast. The 5,000 m² plot, characterized by a steep topography, is defined by a rocky hill that occupies 30% of the land. Rising at the center of a natural basin enclosed by high ridges, this sculptural rock formation stands as the site’s most prominent element. Perceptible from both near and distant surroundings, it commands a full 360-degree panoramic view due to its distinctive position. The primary design criterion was to create a structure that preserves the sculptural rock formation without altering its character or obstructing its perception from the surroundings, while simultaneously establishing a strong relationship with the panoramic landscape. The building is conceived as a tower clad in local stone, connected to a bridge that extends through it toward the rocky hill. The bridge rests on one side of the formation without compromising its natural integrity. The natural plateau atop the rock has been planned as the residence’s outdoor living area, where level differences are utilized to integrate a swimming pool and a viewing terrace.
Finishing materials were selected with particular attention to the colors inherent in the surrounding nature, ensuring harmony with the environment. The tower accommodates vertical circulation, with a workspace on the ground floor and guest bedrooms on the first floor. The bridge and cantilevered section provide the main living spaces for the residents on a single level. Highly insulated exterior walls minimize energy consumption, further supported by the use of LED lighting for 80% of the residence.
