It is located on a small irregular property in a preserve of the Altozano development to the south of the city, with 10 meters in its front part, closing to 6 meters in the back part and a pronounced break in one of its sides.
The proposal is directed taking as a premise the architectural values of light and gravity. On its main façade, two superimposed bodies that apparently are floating one above the other can be clearly seen. The matter between these two elements exerts tension translated as gravity that is only tamed by light, creating that weightless effect. In addition to this concept, the unevenness of the terrain is intentionally taken advantage of, thus each volume escapes to a different direction, the upper volume tries to find its way in search of the light of dawn and the mountains that are glimpsed in the distance, while the lower one seeks to slip away to find refuge in the gloom trying to tame the light and in unity maintain the balance between these values.
The architectural program is very simple, being divided into only two floors as established by the regulation that regulates the subdivision, the ground floor houses the public and services area, and the upper floor the intimate area; As it has a limited surface area due to the land's unplanned capacity, the house works as a compact nucleus, there are no subtractions on the mezzanine, trying to make the most of the surface area, solving the problem of sunlight through large sliding glazing and siphon systems on both facades, allowing abundant natural light to enter and the necessary ventilation to the interior.
Upon entering, this proposed faculty can be read, the room maintains this interconnection with the outside through an opening throughout its entire length, as well as the dining room and kitchen, these three areas are linked by means of a continuous circulation, providing a sensation of spaciousness to the eye even though they are compact, on this same level is the laundry area and service patio attached to the kitchen, making user living practical and functional. The upper floor has three bedrooms, two secondary ones with a mirror arrangement sharing a bathroom, the main bedroom is more abundant in terms of extension, it is the one that seeks to take advantage of the view as much as possible of the vegetation layer that can be seen in the distance, this room has its own dressing room and bathroom.
The proposed materiality is simple, as is the volumetric composition, it is made up of fine flattened white tiles so that daylight and the season of the year tint the walls, some ceramics to create a different atmosphere in specific areas and fundamentally for the issue of low maintenance, trying to achieve the purpose of making it a long-term, functional, economical and durable home.
