The 8,000m2 EOLAS BUILDING at MAYNOOTH UNIVERSITY provides state of the art Information Communication Technology facilities for undergraduate, post-graduate and research users as well as a Business Incubations Centre for start-ups. The building is a major strategic investment by the University as part of an ambitious plan for growth.
Located in the heart of the North Campus, Eolas is a landmark building. It is 4 storeys high with a substantial 2 storey overhang at the south facing main entrance, creating a dramatic welcome on approach. The use of strong colour in the delightful mosaic benches, in combination with the red soffit, creates a vibrant social hub at this sunny focal point of the campus. The overhang merges with the side elevation, folding its way along the east side of the building where it meets the Business Incubation Centre entrance. Eolas is a clever IT building that is user and student friendly, and achieve goals of collaboration, provided through forward looking and flexible spaces which will adapt with the needs of the University in the years to come.
