This recently completed phase is the cornerstone of an ambitious renovation program that aims to give the school a new face and allow it to stand out as an "engineering school of the future.” With this in mind, it is at the forefront of technological development. The program involves the areas used exclusively for research and experimentation within the school and the rehabilitation of the three halls to the rear of the school.
For ENSAM, the intention was to revitalize its research hub and focus on mechanical and industrial engineering for new technologies. This renewed role needed to be spatially translated by creating a showcase able to help ENSAM attract sponsors. The aim was to confirm the readability of each laboratory.
To ensure a dynamic research hub, experimentation spaces need to be constantly renewed as most equipment and test benches have a limited life span of between two and eight years.
ENSAM wants to reaffirm its role as a school and, consequently, the educational project reflects a clear desire to combine education and research.
