The cinema climes in with the Red
Square, together with another landmarks, they will form main city land marks of
Moscow. It locates on a public green belt in Moscow, and it should become a
highlight of it, and serve as a city’s balcony, to extend
the city’s public space into the upper level.
The
value of brand culture
As an old great film cultural center, the cinema occupies
an entrenched niche as a strong and historical brand in the Muscovites people’smind. But how can we present a bran new modern appearance
to this building, and still maintain its “brand value” and “collective memory”.
Two activity routes bring more vitality, attraction
into the architecture.
It might bring lots of possibilities to experience the
building and the city after the change (such as participate in different
Show, view and performance). It
fuses the building and people, city, which attract more people to experience
this architecture's journey and to concern on films as well.
People can through two streams of people’s routes to
experience of the building.
First activity route starts from the grand stairs front of building which
stretches forward into the cinema.
Another activity route begins with building’s elevation. The route spirals
up the elevation until the pavement on the roof. This pavement can be imaged as
a corridor to experience film which is a mixture of the exhibition and the view
of the city.
