Gong Glass Works was selected through a competition to design and fabricate an “Art in Transit” public art work for a bus shelter administered by ARTWalk of Rochester, a non-profit organization that collaborated with The Regional Transit Authority and City of Rochester promoting the arts in Rochester, NY.

The original concept was to visualize the history, engineering and the dynamic precision for Gleason Works manufacturing, where the bus stop is located in front of on University Avenue in Rochester, NY. The design addresses technology and history through a fine art design

Daniel Mossien RA, NCARB designed the physical bus shelter structure along with his intern Christopher Rallo from Mossien Associates Architects. Gong Glass Works was responsible for putting together and orchestrating this selected team. The Glass Shelter is comprised of hand-chipped and etched glass, steel, aluminum and concrete.
