The Emirates Room at the United Nations Office in Geneva is a diplomatic conference space designed for the United Arab Emirates, reflecting both technological excellence and cultural identity.
Developed following an international competition led by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs of Abu Dhabi, the project reinterprets the UAE’s national symbols through contemporary architecture. The design draws inspiration from the falcon emblem and traditional Kufic calligraphy, transformed into a fluid and sculptural spatial language.
The interior is defined by sweeping wooden surfaces, evoking the movement of desert dunes, while the warm tonal palette reflects the natural colors of Abu Dhabi’s landscape. A dynamic LED ceiling recreates the sky, evolving throughout the day and reinforcing the sense of time and openness within the space.
Beyond its symbolic dimension, the project integrates advanced technical solutions to meet the stringent requirements of international conferences, including high-performance acoustics, state-of-the-art interpretation systems and fully integrated environmental controls.
The Emirates Room stands as a contemporary representation of the UAE within a global institutional context, merging innovation, craftsmanship and cultural expression into a unified architectural experience.
