Emerson decided to integrate all corporate IT resources into four strategically located centers. Fox Architects was selected to design and engineer the Emerson Global Data Center located on their suburban St Louis Campus. This 35,000 SF, Tier III center and the additional three facilities replace seventy four small scaled leased facilities.
Several Emerson product offerings are utilized in data centers around the world. These include Liebert Precision Cooling; ASCO Power; and Knurr Racks. Correspondingly, this facility serves not only as Emerson’s key data facility but also as a display platform for many of their industry leading products and services. The St. Louis Data Center utilizes all 10 of Emerson Network Power’s “EnergyLogic” guidelines for energy efficiency.
The defining design element of the building’s exterior is the roof mounted 100 kW Solar Array. This array contributes to a 30% reduction in the building’s energy usage, provides 13% of phase 1 power, and helped this project achieve LEED Gold Certification.
