The collaboration between the studio and the multinational real estate development company Emaar Properties - Dubai opened up the doors to the possibility of creating an engaging design narrative that unites seamlessly with function. The client’s brief rang true to its emphasis upon the creation of sensorial high-value spaces; one that enabled the end-user and potential client experience to assume importance.
A stringent timeline of one year at hand witnessed the conceptualisation of the dedicated Builder’s Experience Centre, model 2BHK and 3BHK apartments; these schemes of connected spaces allows the interested homeowners to experience the authentic state-of-the-art living experience as they meander through the designed zones. The entire layout finds itself cocooned within a pre-existing glazed envelope; dotting the urban skyline’s vocabulary in the heart of Gurugram.
What steered the creative intent was the need for the spaces to strike a sense of connection with every end-user that navigated the space. The quality of human experience when interacting with a designed environment intrinsically impacts the way one takes to a space. With Emaar DigiHomes, the design intent was to bring forward an elevated living experience that stimulates the senses in a wholesome manner through the continuous dialogue between the inside and the outside.
The meticulously detailed brief catapulted the design process in a trajectory, where the shared vision was to position the client at the core of its being. The design narrative finds its roots in the conceptual identity, contemporary nuances, attention to detail and the coming together of three distinct grammars of design, tied together with a ‘feel-good’ aura within the limited blueprint. The aspect that assumes the centre stage is not the appealing co-existence of these design vocabularies, but instead the grace with which each uplifts the other without overwhelming the beholder.
The heart of the layout is manifested by the form of the Experience Centre. This space anchors the main circulation paths, which connect to the two model apartments. Driving the overarching design ethos, this section of the floorplan acts as the primary interface between the model homes and the visitors. Its critical function revolves around weaving a visual story from the very first moment an end-user steps foot inside the premises. While diverse styles co-inhabit the space, each shines through in its rightful light.
A certain classic-rustic opulence rules this fluidic space, with an ambience that celebrates the feeling of finding oneself in the outdoors. Reimagined as an airy sunny verandah or patio of sorts, this space hosts an interplay of printed motif tiles contrasted against concrete surfaces, warm wood tones, vintage ornate metal railings, touches of rattan that are reminiscent of a tropical plantation home porch with statement lighting.
The model residences are curated meticulously, bearing the essence of user-centric designs in terms of aesthetics and functions alike. The 2BHK is envisioned as a budget-effective abode that is the ideal fit for younger families that may take to the eclectic palette; ingeniously interlaced with a sense of familial warmth. The colour blue is the hero of the space, with its significant yet restrained usage across the home’s canvas, lending it a refreshing identity. The piecing together of each element - functional or decorative, allows the home to exude a lived-in character that strikes a chord immediately! A feature that makes for an intriguing addition is the quaint dining area wallpaper, framing views of a winding white stucco-lined hallway which gives the space a sense of increased dimension. This unit’s design approach walks the line between the unconventional and the alluring with ease!
With a contemporary and elegant identity at its crux, the 3BHK unit has been created with a timeless palette that is the torchbearer of luxe living. The vocabulary of this residence is composed of the subdued neutral tonality that is tied-in with pops of hues, curated artwork and acute attention to lifestyle-based details. Fit for modern royalty, the master suite encapsulates the overall persona of this home — the ribbed beige velvet upholstered bed, royal portraits that adorn the walls and the iconic Souffle Chair makes for the perfect vignette.
At the Emaar DigiHomes, the spaces have been brought to life with a passion for creating immersive experiences — the play of colour palettes, materiality, bric-a-brac or the bespoke luminaires manifests as thought-driven design. As a result, the spatial design comes forward as a living entity that shelters families in homes that mirror their identity, aspirations and future.
