The objective of this car workshop is to renovate an unused space first floor of a shophouse in Jakarta. Indonesian studio Avrmline commissioned to design a workshop that make everyone feels like in their own home, a comfortable and cozy place.
Macro concept of this workshop is a place which designed as a clean, moving, and progressive retail space which represent automotive itself. Both complexity of car modification works and simplicity of car's shape were attached into every space elements.
The existing space have only one entrance which is next to the cabinet. But eventually added to three entrance in order to accomodate more cars. The design should keep up and adapt with this condition.
Office area was designed as a clean space and using translucent material, glass.
The ceiling is representing of a movement of speed which is instability to turn 165 degree and than turn again to 105 degree. The different color and elevation strengthen it and giving emphasize to the cabinet.
The cabinet is a focal point in this project which has to be a reflection of overall design. Overlapping, light, and motion are the three keywords of this furniture design.
