The appearance of the building blends in with the Gründerzeit-style surroundings of the building site. The façade design is based on the existing school in terms of both the structure and the choice of materials but implements the design components in a contemporary form.
The extension comprises 9 classrooms for approx. 25 pupils (3 "clusters" of three classrooms each), special classrooms, group rooms, toilet facilities with disabled toilets, a standardized gymnasium, library and outdoor facilities.
The most important aspect of the development, in addition to accessibility within the extension, is the connection to the existing building on all floors. This makes it possible to achieve all-round circulation in the corridor area. Functional networking of the schools is thus achieved. Unhindered access to the standardised gymnasium for the existing school and to the existing exercise rooms in the existing school by the new school is ensured.
The fun court is also easily accessible for the existing school via the connection to the new building.
