EUROPAN, the competition for Europe's young architects proposed two Irish sites for the first time in 2007. CASTarchitecture selected the site of Stannaway Park in Dublin. The competition requested proposals for the detailed design of 80 homes for the elderly and strategies for the development of the existing Stannaway park adjacent to the housing site. The team documented the existing social and physical fabric of the area and concluded that the area required careful and precise interventions to allow the local communities to better integrate with their environment and each other.
