El Camino Hospital’s Center for Advanced Radiotherapy and Cyberknife Radiosurgery consisted of ground-up construction of a new 1- story 7,100 Sq. ft. radiation oncology facility to house a linear accelerator, Cyberknife, HDR and CT scanner – requiring the construction of three concrete vaults – in an aggressive 5 1/2 month schedule. Site improvements included landscaping, irrigation system, lighting, underground utilities, bio-swales and parking.
The utilities of the cutting edge equipment in the facility were encased in up 10 feet of concrete and lined in lead, requiring precise planning.
