Designed by OM Arch, this 300 m² residential project involves the structural strengthening of an existing building and a complete reorganization of its interior layout in response to a revised program of requirements.
Due to the linear nature of the building, the spatial organization was developed along a clear linear axis. A centrally positioned staircase—located in a naturally unlit zone—acts as the project’s primary spine, connecting all floors and organizing the circulation throughout the house. The plan configuration built around this core allows for a clear separation of functions while maintaining spatial continuity between different levels.
On the ground floor, the main entrance and kitchen are arranged in a compact and efficient layout, while the primary living area is positioned along the same axis to establish an uninterrupted relationship with the surrounding views. The open-plan living space is defined by large openings that maximize daylight and are complemented by a restrained interior language that enhances spatial clarity.
The first floor is organized with the master bedroom oriented toward the view, while the children’s bedroom and the main bathroom are located on the opposite wing of the building. The stair hall is utilized not only as a circulation space but also as an active storage area. The attic level, supported by a skylight, is designed as a home office, benefiting from controlled natural light.
At the basement level, a secondary living space with direct access to the garden is introduced, accompanied by a kitchenette and a WC serving this area. Supporting functions such as the laundry room and storage spaces are also located on this level, allowing the upper floors to remain more fluid and uncluttered.
Throughout the project, natural materials, warm wood tones, and a neutral color palette were used to create a timeless atmosphere. Through the process of structural strengthening, the existing building’s potential was reinterpreted to accommodate contemporary living needs.
