The project is situated in Point Chevalier, a medium-density residential suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. The simplistic gable form complemented the neighboring homes while still maintaining its own character and individuality.

Our client believed in our vision for a sustainable future through architecture. The clients advocated their desire for an innovative and sustainable home. The concept for the house was a clever compact design that optimizes the use of thermal mass, solar gain and cross ventilation, which naturally manages the internal environment. Electrical monitoring systems also manage the internal environment by controlling the opening skylights at the apex of the living area. Thermally bridged construction and highly rated insulation keep the house warm during the winter months. Energy-efficient devices such as LED lights and solar hot water are employed to reduce the monthly bills.
