In the Tyrolean community of Wenns, an educational center has been established. The task was to renovate the existing primary school with an attached gymnasium and to expand it with a children’s daycare center. The existing building comprises a ground floor, basement, upper floor, and attic. The classrooms, library, and restrooms are located on the ground floor. The upper floor houses grades 4 to 6, along with the conference room, principal’s office, and auxiliary rooms. In the attic, there is a resource room for the primary school, a meeting room for general use, and the children’s daycare center. The first basement level includes the workshop with additional rooms and the gymnasium with changing rooms.
A three-story new building for the kindergarten and nursery is being constructed in a building gap between the gymnasium and the multipurpose building. All floors, as well as the rooftop area, are barrier-free and accessible via an enclosed staircase with an elevator. Both kindergarten floors feature open wardrobes with an adjacent access corridor. From this corridor, the group rooms, marketplace, director’s office, diaper-changing room, activity room, staff room, and an independent multipurpose room are accessible. The large outdoor area on the rooftop is accessible via the staircase.
