Client's Vision: A uniquely dynamic custom home design that blends into its native desert environment.
Design Approach: Standing out among architects, Marc A Soloway, AIA creates homes that represent a fusion of architecture and nature, blurring the distinction between inside and outside, and bringing the rugged Tucson Arizona desert up close and personal.
Set into rising desert terrain, the Edris Residence's sweeping roof overhangs and stacked stone accents, visually blend the home into its surroundings. Metal fascia literally glow as the sun sets in the evening. Stacked stone wall segments enter the Great Room, and together with floor-to-ceiling window walls, provide a minimalist interface between outside and inside. Curved ceiling soffits combine with Travertine tile and wood flooring, provide visual separations in the expansive Great Room. The Kitchen is open and inviting; décor modern yet warm, with light woods and stainless steel accents.
Split floor plan has the Master Suite at the far end, facing the rising canyon wall, with its private Spa just a short private walk into the desert. Stone pavers of the Main Patio, together with stacked stone and stucco-coated planters, bring desert flora right up to the home, creating a perfect transition between the home's Southwest Contemporary architecture and the native Tucson Arizona landscape.
