FREAKS have been invited to propose an outdoor installation at the occasion of the 2013 "Nuit Blanche", a one night art exhibition held over the whole city of Paris.
That installation took place in the garden of Le Pavillon Vendôme in Clichy, located just in the western outskirt of Paris. Built around the 17th century, that very nice and rich palace might have been used as a hunting lodge by the Monarchy for a while. It has now just been refurbished and turned into a contemporary art center. It hosts impressive painted ceiling realized by Claude III Audran illustrating hunting scenes involving fantastic animals.
Meanwhile FREAKS was working on a hi-rise building project and the idea came that the design process of a tower could maybe be used and apply to design the horn of a unicorn, from the 3D drawing software until the final 3D printed object.
The video shows the whole process and the final result : "Edma", a black horse rented for the night and wearing the printed black horn.
