Liverpool City Council have approved Edge Lane Retail Park, the gateway site to the city centre at the end of the M62. AEW have secured planning permission for 890,000 sq ft of commercial, retail and leisure accommodation. The designs were submitted following approval by CABE.
The scheme includes 47 retail units, four restaurants and three leisure units, 1,680 parking spaces (plus cycle spaces) and extensive public realm and public art.
AEW worked alongside DPP with the pre-application negotiations and multiple large and complex planning applications to take our clients long-held aspirations forward. Consultation with key stakeholders was important, and subject to the confirmation of Government Office, it is hoped that work can begin on the site in early 2011.
