This 600sf bachelor suite, on the lower level of a 120 year old Toronto building, was part of a larger foundation repair project. Designed to be a premium rental unit, it has its own entry, tall ceilings, abundant natural light and heated floors. The space is dry, warm and airtight thanks to an advanced building envelope. A tank-less high efficiency boiler supplies domestic hot water and in-floor heating while a heat recovery ventilator exchanges air with minimal heat loss. The finishes were chosen for affordability, durability and their healthy material content.
