Eaton Beach, Lot 1 is a 4,131 sq ft custom home located in the charming beach community in California. The mission of this project was to design a mainly one story home with all of the essential living spaces including the master bedroom on the first floor. Additionally, the style of the exterior needed to reflect the qualities demonstrated by historic tropical Hawaiian architecture.
The design solution was to create a large open living area oriented to the Southwest through a covered lanai, looking onto the pool beyond the outdoor fireplace. This beautiful living space was designed with two substantial sets of glass bi-fold doors that open up completely, connecting the airy, open interiors to the lanai, allowing for an exquisite indoor/outdoor experience. Additionally, there is a guest suite or ohana located on the second story taking advantage of the panoramic ocean views. The ohana has its own lanai as well as an exterior stair case accessed from the pool area below.
