Endless Space
Mirrors reflect and
refract infinitely, creating a sense of endlessness. The angle from one
sidewall to the other is 15 degrees. This 15-degree angle, which is a slice the
24th of a circle, is placed in such a way to generate a doughnut like virtual
space. The mirror cladded back wall is also tilted at 15-degree angle. It
reflects a grand tree behind the resident DJs and serves as a comfortable
backrest for the built in bench. Only glass separates the 226 x 226cm DJ-Booth
from the street, transforming the sidewalk into a party scene. The rhythm of NYC,
music, and desire for an amazing space guided this project.
East Village Radio can
be heard live at the station on 1st Avenue between 1st and 2nd Street and
online on www.eastvillageradio.com.
