Located on Manhattan’s posh Upper East Side, this 4200sf home was
designed for a family that splits their time between Hong Kong and New
York. The tight spaces within the large pre-war apartment were opened up
to improve flow and create grand sequences suitable for entertaining
and family life. Concealed doors allow the owners to control access to
different parts of the apartment depending on the type of event while
still allowing the family to interact in private. Views are layered from
one space to the next, drawing guests through the apartment toward
focal points and key pieces of art.
