The building was built in the 1940's as a US Coast Guard barracks and during the 1950's it was the home and studio for artist Theodore Stamos. The artist Tony Smith designed an additional apartment onto the house in 1951. In the 1970 through the 2010's, artist, Kez Zapkus lived and worked there. In 2013-14, new owners purchased the property and I was hired to completely renovate the house and reconfigure the spaces. The project was completed in 2014.
