EAST Hotel

EAST is a high-end, contemporary business hotel with a design that's woven into the local urban fabric of an art district in Beijing.
EAST isl nestled in an upcoming district within China’s capital. Established as a new and innovative additional to the business hotel scene in the city, EAST has been designed to preserve a distinct charm and ‘boutique’ ambience grounded in the culture of its area. Through innovative design, the 49,000sqm EAST also meets the needs of its discerning clientele with a full suite of business and leisure facilities.
Architecturally, the hotel stands out within its immediate environment with a striking curved glass façade. Utilising the curve to the draw in the views of the parklands sitting to the east, the design takes full advantage of its unique and tranquil setting. Purposefully, 70% of the guest rooms and all the dining establishments were positioned along the curved façade, with floor-to-ceiling picture windows augmenting the vistas.
Inspired by the contemporary artists from famous neighbouring art zones, EAST is a showcase of carefully curated local artworks. The reception space has been specifically designed to allude to an art gallery with clean lines, minimal furniture and space given to house the two remarkable local art pieces.
In the guest rooms, bespoke photography was commission to capture hidden and secret areas of Beijing for feature walls, giving guests a glimpse of the city they would not normally see. Another layer of local context is provided by further playful art installations throughout the interiors.
Clever design detailing of personal amenities has added a sense of discovery to the hotel, while access to beautifully designed state-of-the-art business and leisure facilities and seamless links to a larger mixed-use destination and transport hubs fully rounds-out the high-end experience.
Benoy worked closely with the client to ensure EAST hotel was created with an environmentally conscious agenda to be recognised with the LEED Gold award New Construction.
