Eagle Harbour Condominiums are located on the waterfront of Bainbridge Island, looking out onto the Washington State Ferry dock and a stunning view of the Puget Sound.
These two condominium buildings were constructed of stucco in the 1970s. Over the years, water intrusion significantly damaged the skin and the structure beneath. The Coates Design team worked with the many homeowners to provide a cost-efficient reclad, giving the buildings a contemporary makeover. Old and worn materials were replaced with modern, sustainable ones, and the structural integrity strengthened. The result is a renovation that transported the buildings into the 21st century and reflects the beauty of its surrounding area.
Tenant health and comfortability were considered at every step of the design process with each unit receiving complete window, door, patio decking and handrail replacements. The public hallway surfaces were totally replaced, and the dated lighting exchanged for a more sustainable alternative. Repairs to the framing and waterproofing of all windows and planters were done to ensure that the stability and safety of the structure are optimal for decades to come.
