This project is
part of my graduation thesis about the relatioship between fisical public
spaces and internet/social netwok applied at three study areas in my city,
Pescara.
Since nineties, the
advent of new technologies related to Internet has radically changed our
behaviours and habits, our way of living and working. On the other hand, the
concept of “modern dwelling” continues
to be the same and reflects obsolete models of society.
Dwelling 2.0 is an experimentation
about the possibility to apply some of the web 2.0 concepts (user-centred design and user community) to the fisical place of
housing, giving to user the chance to became an active operator and not only a
passive consumer.
Dwelling 2.0
explores topics related to economic crisis and how to manage common space and
resources in order to maximize benefits and to share burdens.
Dwelling 2.0 expresses
modern lifestyles and new kind of needs of atypical families and users.
Dwelling 2.0 allows
to use an apartment in many creative and innovative ways: it is made by a
minimum private space linked to an hibrid space shared with other apartments on
the same floor, a sort of cohousing on a small scale.
Dwelling 2.0
doesn’t want to be an exhaustive project: it is a work-in-progress.
