Dusk at Caesars Atlantic City is a return to a classic nightclub layout, layered with the best in technology and technology inspired materials. The design of the space was inspired by the descent down into the club from the floor above, and by its proximity to the Ocean. From the moment you step through the perforated metal entrance and descend down the stairs you feel like you are being transported to a different world—a dark adult underworld playground. The club is arranged in concentric ovals, like the rings of a water droplet around the main dance floor—the heart of the club. You enter on the outer ring of the club that is elevated a foot higher than the dance floor allowing guests to scope the scene. From here you can walk around the outer ring to the bars, to the middle ring table service area, or dive right onto the dance floor.
The color palette emulates the colors of dusk with different shades of blue and copper. The space is layered with various textures. There is a play between a more industrial technology-driven feel with perforated and polished metals in some areas and others interact with club goers offering a warm, plush, and luxurious feels with leather wrapped handrails, plush fabrics, and rich woods. The cool blue and purple hues taken from the night sky are offset with the warm amber light given off by the backlit onyx and bronze mirror throughout the space.
The main design feature and focal point in the space is a multilayered undulating mesh ceiling that hangs over the entire heart of the club and measures 2500 sq ft. Impressive theatrical lighting is embedded in the various layers of the mesh ceiling and is placed on lifts that allow the form to be illuminated from within or to be projected on from the outside. The ceiling has a great sense of depth and animation as if it were actually moving. Curving up and over the elevated DJ booth and stage are nearly a thousand color changing lights up a low resolution moving image giving an amazing backdrop for the DJ. The theatricality of the light show was envisioned to showcase the prominent DJs that will play in the space. The lighting in the entire space can be controlled from the DJ booth—the whole room can spin and chase with lighting with the push of a button to correspond to the music.
