Durango 133 is an exercise on the inclusion of a contemporary project, at the corner of Durango and Tonala,
a piece of land situated in the city fabric of a historical neighborhood, Roma Norte, Mexico City.
The building is situated in an area of atypical dimensions for the district (63m facade in 1,100 m2). It´s neighboring buildings are part of the the urban cultural heritage of artistic value inside the Heritage Conservation program.
The Project of 4 floors propose 18 duplex units facing the street and 4 interior apartments of one level.
The outer housing is a combination of two characteristic typologies of the neighbourhood.
In the first 2 levels, a number of houses with individual entrances from the street is proposed. The ground floor is raised middle level on the sidewalk to provide privacy and play with its relationship with the pedestrian and street.
On top of these houses duplex apartments inspired in the concept of open elevated Street, typical of the neighbourhood of the early twentieth century.
