The villa is designed and developed in a residential setting located in the beautiful countryside of north-eastern Italy. In the north the Alps are creating a beautiful background and in the south we can see the long plain of the campaign reaching the sea.
The customers’ need was to be able to have a free day-space that could enjoy a large outward opening from every direction, either towards the Alps or towards the southern garden. The structure, therefore, is divided into two simple volumes; on one side the living area with the big tilted roof, on the other side the sleeping and service areas with a simple parallelepiped. The living area is conceived on several levels, all open on each other and characterized by the fireplace element which runs through every space up to the ceiling. A system of stairs built with different materials unifies the various gradients up to the roof terrace from which you can enjoy the view of the Alps. The sleeping and service areas (garage, bathrooms, etc ..) more introverted, are also connected to the various staggered planes of the living area and are designed using simple outward openings framed by stone.
The contrast between the two volumes gives an easily readable interpretative key that enhances their functions and uses. Everyday’s life is therefore held in a daily temporal scanning between more open and brighter areas to other more introverted and reserved.
