Project title: Duetheke [Siamese Rural Turrette Residential Prototype Architectural Design].
Architectural Office:
Aristotheke Eutectonics
Program: Single-Family House.
Architect: Aristotelis
Dimitrakopoulos
Collaborators: Vaso
Gioka (3D modeling), Pilar Gonzales Burghos (Collaging), Maria Sotiriou (Drafting + modeling). In response to the tectonics of the Cycladian context and the sheer building code restrictions, Duetheke extends the Architheke project series produced by our office for the islands, exploring masonry volumetrics. Duetheke uses the same initial parti of two towers, in this case superimposing one upon the other and interlocking them, ultimately producing a "Siamese" tower composition. The scheme is totemic, rejecting any topographic features that would link the habitable volumes to the natural slope. Programmatically, beyond the obvious spaces of an independent house, the building includes a semi-independent guest-floor, a workspace, and a lower playroom.
