This is a concept proposal to reimagine the design district of Dubai as a lively composition of different zones of activity seen as a composition of events.
At the heart of Dubai, the D3 site has a strategic location which is well connected to road networks, landmarks, airports and natural resources. This proposal reimagines the area as a mixed use area of serviced apartments, residential areas, retail outlets, offices, hotels, cultural facilities, education and institutional buildings.
The proposal also includes ideas for signature boutiques located located at the creek waterfront. It includes a vibrant waterfront area and a sinuous, iconic central hub. The aim is to create a walkable, pedestrian friendly area, which is of interest to both design professionals and non design background visitors. Alongside pedestrian use, the proposal also includes primary, secondary and tertiary road networks to connect each zone to the main roadway to the rest of the city.
