Dubai Creek Harbor development plays host to a future community of high-rise towers amongst to include the successor to the tallest tower in the world. The development is envisioned to become “a world-class city sub-center which promotes new concepts in sustainable urban development in Dubai.” The vision for Dubai Creek Harbour at The Lagoons is to realize a future urban city where local culture and climate are respected and nurture a live-work-play environment that is in harmony with nature.
In this endeavor, three community plots have been designed to reflect the developer’s vision. The overall building mass presents a distinct form for the building from the ground, podium levels, tower, and crown. From an 8m x 8m grid layout, a 4m x 4m grid provides the basis for floor plan development that addresses architectural and structural requirements. The building program allows for residential, mixed-use, and amenities to be arranged according to the space program requirement of client. Mixed use and amenities floors are located in the podium while residential floors are located in the tower. Each plot is designed to respond to context with respect to location, design parameters, and views.
The towers were designed with a modern style depicting balance, stability, and elegance. Its glass façade feature the rhythmic patterns of balconies framed in protruding masses of volumes creating depths and shadows. The podiums consist of parking, amenities, and retail spaces – the latter engaging and enlivening the street character of the development.
